We are Rob and Charlie. Rob is an architect and Charlie has been working in the art world for over ten years. Charlie loves bacon much more than any normal person should and Rob’s quest to find and brew the perfect coffee may result in the demise of our eleven year relationship.
We have lived fairly nomadic lives, having previously lived in Berlin, New York and after seven years in London, we decided it was time to make a change, so, we moved to Hong Kong in Jan 2015. We left with one suitcase each, no jobs, no place to live but with the belief that things always had a way of working themselves out. We were right, we had two awesome, inspiring years, met some lifelong friends and learnt more than we could have imagined.
Charlie’s Dad is a big believer in the 70/30 gin to tonic ratio. So Travel Tonics is partly inspired by this mantra, but also because we believe in the restorative powers of travel and creating opportunities to see the world and unplug whilst doing so. And Travel Tonics has a nice ring to it.
This blog is for our friends and family to follow our journey whilst we travel round the world for eight months, and if we can inspire others to see more and travel often, well that works too.
